Workshop description 'Circus - a safe(r) space for danger'

Content & format

In this workshop we discuss guidelines for the different phases before and after soft tissue injury:

Phase 0: PREVENTION

How do I minimize my injury risk?

Phase 1: PEACE (Protect, Elevate, Avoid anti-inflammatory modalities, Compression, Education)

How do I act immediately after injury?

Phase 2: LOVE (Load management, Optimism, Vascularization, Exercise) and ‘return to play’

I applied the first aid principles… What happens next?

Learning outcomes

You understand the importance of body adaptation to the needs of a circus body, through changing daily behavior. You understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

You will have a better view on how to act after a soft tissue injury. By applying the PEACE principles in acute injury, you can create an optimal environment to start the healing process.

The LOVE acronym will be your guide in the recovery after an injury on your way to return to play.
