About the speaker

Saar Rombout

Saar Rombout is a circus artist, rigger and designer who is specialised in Rope Design. The way she works with circus is to explore and play with the relationship between body, object and space. She works together with her circus apparatus and is looking to create more equal relationships of mutual influence between human and object. Which is something that is often failed to be appreciated in the spectacular circus world. To do this she builds rope installations that she explores and performs with in interactive settings.

Saar graduated in 2012 from Fontys ACaPA and did a Master in Contemporary Circus Practices at SKH in Sweden followed by an education in Narrative Design. She has been a circus rigger for over 10 years which has also become an essential part of her artistic practice.
